Medical Director, Community Paramedicine

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Medical Director, Community Paramedicine. This part time position will be a .1 FTE. This individual will serve as the clinical supervisor for the Community Paramedics and undertake key roles in program development and implementation, leadership, strategy, governance and advocacy. This role will have a dual reporting structure. The Medical Director and telehealth portion will report to the Center for Connected Care Department Director, Dr. William Zafirau. Their primary clinical practice will continue to report to IHI – Emergency Medicine.

This role will be responsible primarily for developing paramedic protocols and ongoing education. They will coordinate care with other departments and Center for Connected Care resources. Per State of Ohio requirements, they will be responsible for clinical oversight of the Community Paramedic team. There will be an opportunity to be scheduled for monthly telehealth shifts where the Community Paramedics will go to patient homes and facilitate a virtual visit with the Medical Director.

The candidate must be an Emergency Medicine trained physician. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader focused on the development of clinical protocols that enable the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality patient care.
