Lead Pharmacy Technician – Float Pool

7:30am-4:00pm Independence, OH US April 21, 2025

*This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500*

As Lead Pharmacy Technician in the Float Pool, you will delegate and direct teams of fellow caregivers across various locations, ensuring the proper execution and delivery of pharmacy services, including work shift responsibilities and assignments, quality control monitoring, various project-oriented tasks, and training and orientation activities. This position is pivotal to the overall functioning of our Pharmacies, allowing you to help facilitate effective, accurate and streamlined care for patients across the hospital. All the while, you will gain extensive hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore advanced positions, education and individual development resources. 

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:00PM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Interact with and review work of caregivers, providing feedback to ensure maximized output and efficiency.  
  • Create and present quality control reports to management regarding team performance and throughput.  
  • Ensure caregivers are adequately trained and oriented to the work area.  
  • Provide onside re-training.  
  • Serve as a technical resource.  
  • Work in staff capacity and possess the ability to perform all technician functions. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma 
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)   
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy with registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within six months of hire  
  • Three years of experience in an inpatient and/or advanced community practice setting 
  • Ability to educate and train others, including how to plan and direct their efforts  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physician demands include the ability to perform functions of the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching; ability to transport up to 250 lbs.
