As a Specialty Program Assistant, you will coordinate administrative support for and represent your assigned program in interactions with other internal departments, external organizations, patients, referring physicians, insurance representatives and Case Managers. Your daily responsibilities often include a mix of managing intakes, insurance verification and tracking while completing the necessary documentation for the national certification process. This role offers a rewarding experience, as you directly help patients fulfill the requirements needed to access often life-changing surgical treatments.
A caregiver in this position works remotely from 8:30AM — 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Coordinate insurance, communication, and guest relations support to facilitate the patient journey for the procedure within the Clinical Specialty Program (e.g., patient phone calls, insurance company correspondence, collating medical documents and submitting to insurance for approval).
- Facilitate communications between patients, healthcare providers and insurance providers to provide additional information for denials and appeals.
- Take trouble shoots calls to ensure appropriate representation of the Program requirements.
- Coordinate and maintain database systems to assist patients in reaching their Program goals.
- May require working regularly with nurses, physicians, and medical assistants to move patients to the insurance approval stage.
- Develop improved processes for patient throughput using database resources.
- May consult with third party vendors to customize data base to better meet the needs of the department.
- Work with a team to organize policies and procedures needed for national accreditation and registries.
- Run daily reports to assist the workflow or ongoing Program needs.
- Monitor completion of report tasks and offer education and assistance, as necessary.
- May assist with planning and coordination of unique events and media stories.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in a hospital, medical or other administrative setting OR Associate's Degree in Business or a related healthcare field and one year of experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Finance, Business or a related field
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- EPIC experience
- Experience with institute scheduling

- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. No patient contact.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
