Outpatient Pharmacy Technician – Oncology and Infusion
7:30am-4:00pm/8:00am-4:30pm Cleveland, OH US May 8, 2025

As a Pharmacy Technician, you play an essential role in keeping patients safe and comfortable at Fairview and local regional hospital infusion sites. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 4:00PM or 8:00AM – 4:30P
Role located at Fairview primarily and will float all regional location on an as needed basis.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
- Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Document regulatory requirements, including temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
- Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) required upon hire
- Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee will be accepted with agreement of updating registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire
- Understanding of algebraic calculations for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
- Six month of hospital experience
- USP 797 Compounding or USP 800 Compounding experience
- Outpatient Infusion experience
