As a Radiology Technologist, you will use the latest X-Ray equipment to obtain images utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients at both Hillcrest and Mentor Hospitals. Utilizing your learned skills and knowledge, you will perform accurate and appropriate techniques to facilitate a streamlined process, all while ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 3:30PM or 8:30AM – 6:00PM, with on-call and weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Perform ED/surgical procedures (i.e., vascular, general medicine, ortho, cardiac, GI, GU, neuro, pediatric, and general procedures).
- Produce images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
- Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and families on procedures as needed.
- Assist in scheduling patients and determining priority of patients.
- Ensures patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
- Assist Radiologists, physicians and surgeons with procedures.
- in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS.
- Immediately report any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator.
- Maintain documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.
- Notify management and take proper action to address equipment malfunctions.
- Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing
- Current state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
