Sr. Director of HR Operations

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a strategic, dedicated and experienced leader to serve as Senior Director of HR Operations – overseeing HR budget, communications, the Shared Services call center, mergers, acquisitions, engagement, rewards and recognition. This leader will have a focus on improving current systems, embracing change and pursuing innovation. 

 

The Senior Director HR Operations acts as the “administrator of HR”, driving process, budget, productivity and policy execution within the Caregiver Office. This caregiver leads initiatives focused on automation, cost-saving and avoiding unnecessary labor costs and owns large enterprise-wide HR programs including Tuition Reimbursement, Caregiver Hardship funds and more. Additionally, this leader navigates across HR, Finance and executive stakeholders to prioritize and implement critical HR initiatives. 

 

This is the ideal role for an individual with extended HR Operations and leadership experience, who has high integrity and resourcefulness, is a critical thinker with the ability to navigate confidential projects and cross-functional partnerships and is independent, accountable and confident in ambiguous and/or sensitive environments. 

 

A caregiver in this role works Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. — 5 p.m., on-site at our Cleveland Clinic Administrative Campus, with some travel required. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

  • Partner directly with CHRO and leadership to support HR budgeting, productivity tracking and cost-efficiency projects, vet and approve position requests within the Caregiver Office and serve on the position control committee. 

  • Lead and measure performance of the HR Service Center. 

  • Oversee enterprise-wide HR programs (e.g., Caregiver Hardship, Loan Forgiveness). 

  • Serve as lead for HR projects that fall outside traditional function silos (e.g., ambiguous initiatives). 

  • Support automation and technology strategies to scale HR Services. 

  • Regularly communicate with HR VP/EDs to ensure execution of key business priorities. 

  • Monitor cost repositioning goals and develop Human Resources budget in collaboration with enterprise leaders. 

  • Modernize Human Resources technology and provide a call center for all caregivers. 

  • Oversee Human Resources collaboration on mergers and acquisitions. 

  • Provide oversight and direction for the Press Ganey Engagement Survey program and subsequent actions plans. 

  • Drive Human Resources communications within the division and through the enterprise and create integrated engagement programs to maintain enterprise objectives. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field 

  • 15 years of management experience in Human Resources or related environment 

  • HR Operations leadership experience 

  • Ability to manage budgets and position control 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree 

  • HR Service Center experience 

  • Healthcare experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $72.70

Maximum hourly: $143.58
