The Cardiovascular Imaging department at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus offers angiograms as part of their comprehensive cardiac imaging services. This department, located within the Miller Pavilion, utilizes advanced CT and MRI technology to diagnose and plan treatment for various heart conditions. Angiograms are used to visualize blood flow and identify blockages within the heart and blood vessels. As an Imaging Specialist, you will perform exams and procedures on patients of all ages while maintaining patient safety at all times.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM—6:00PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Coordinate and perform clinical and research exams.

Produce images of optimal quality.

Provide technical assistance to physicians, technologists, visiting students and professors, industry representatives and CCHS imaging facilities

Act as a specialty resource related to patient care, imaging and technology.

Perform research components, data collection, recording and analysis.

Assist physicians, technologist and physicist research personnel in the development and optimization of new and established imaging techniques for the advancement of clinical research protocols.

Provide educational opportunities for residents and fellows within Radiology and other medical and surgical sub-specialties.

During the image acquisition, maintain all aspects of patient care and education.

Participate in activities that promote safety and wellbeing of the patients, visitors and other personnel.

Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and Radiology students.

Maintain a quality assurance program according to FDA and MQSA regulations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or CAAHEP accredited school of diagnostic medical sonography for diagnostic medical sonographers.

Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and in good standing.

Certified in modality of specialization

State licensure (RL) required prior to employment dependent on modality

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
-
Two years of recent experience in specialized modality
