We perform standard endoscopic procedures with exceptional attention to detail. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM—5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Assist the physician with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), ERCP, flexible sigmoidoscopies and EUS.

Stock all rooms with equipment and supplies and maintain proper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes.

Change chemical sterilant and clean scope washer according to policy.

Prepare and send out scopes for repair after notifying director.

Assist in the orientation of new personnel to all in room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes.

Perform clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler.

Transport specimens according to policy using universal precautions.

Make pre-op calls to patients to obtain preliminary information.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and make full use of existing resources.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

One year of experience in a hospital setting
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMT)

Patient Care Technician (PCT) experience
