Clinical Speech Pathologist – Pediatrics

As a Speech Pathologist, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide care to patients in our Westlake location with the possibility to float within various Cleveland Clinic locations from Beachwood, Stow Falls, Medina, Cleveland and Middleburg heights. In this role, you will perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients. This includes interpreting and reporting test results to facilitate medical diagnosis, providing counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families, and determining therapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.
A caregiver in this position various 4 ten-hour shifts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. — 6:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
· Select assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication.
· Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
· Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services.
· Maintain records of all services.
· Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers.
· Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials.
· Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
· Master’s degree in speech/language pathology.
· Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
· Hold (SP) license in current state upon start date.
· Hold Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
· Completion of a nine-month clinical fellowship year.
Experience with pediatric patients is preferred

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
