The laboratory team at Tradition Hospital is a small, cohesive team that works collaboratively to achieve excellence and offers extensive training and on-site and continuing education. 

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Perform various laboratory procedures.  

• Assist with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, transporting and storing specimens.  

• Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs.  

• Perform quality assurance activities.  

• Maintain adequate stock of supplies and manage the inventory by transporting and distributing supplies.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• High school diploma or GED 

• Completion of three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies
