Quality Officer, Neurological Institute

The Neurological Institute (NI) at Cleveland Clinic is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Quality Officer. This is an exciting and rewarding leadership opportunity for a physician with a passion for advancing high-quality, safe, and reliable care for patients with neurological disease.
The NI Quality Officer will partner closely with physician leaders, nursing, operations, and enterprise stakeholders to drive optimal quality and patient outcomes across all centers and sites of the Neurological Institute. This is a critical leadership function that aligns clinical excellence with enterprise quality priorities while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high reliability.
Role Overview
The Quality Officer is responsible for the strategic oversight, measurement, and improvement of quality performance across the Neurological Institute. There will be a significant focus on advancing outcomes related to:
- Reducing preventable readmissions
- Optimizing discharge to home and care transitions
- Improving inpatient and outpatient neurological outcomes
Key Responsibilities
Provide physician leadership for all Neurological Institute quality initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise quality, safety, and regulatory goals
- Lead performance improvement efforts across key quality metrics
- Establish and sustain high-reliability, multidisciplinary teams across all Neurological Institute centers and locations
- Partner with Infection Prevention, Regulatory Affairs, Nursing, Operations, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure coordinated goal setting, measurement, and execution
- Promote the use of data, dashboards, and evidence-based practices to drive measurable and sustainable improvement
- Support accreditation, regulatory surveys, and ongoing readiness activities
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning
- Report directly to the Vice Chair Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience on quality strategy, performance, and outcomes
Qualifications
MD or DO, board certified, with a strong clinical background in neurological, psychiatric, or physiatric care
- Minimum of 5 years of patient care experience
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary, cross-departmental teams
- Proven ability to design, implement, and sustain quality improvement programs
- Working knowledge of high reliability principles, patient safety science, and performance improvement methodologies
- Strong leadership, communication, and change-management skills

The salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions.
