As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various exercises to increase strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination to relieve pain, avoid injury or regain function. In this role, you will float between multiple outpatient locations, allowing you to see a vast variety of patients each day. This position requires close physical interaction with patients, offering numerous opportunities to truly connect with patients and build stronger relationships. Often, these patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is essential. Giving patients the drive and support they need to work hard and regain their health is equally important.
A caregiver in this position works varying days and hours between 7:00AM – 7:00PM. Shifts will be 8 or 10 hours.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.

Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care while involving the patient and/or their family.

Perform therapy interventions.

Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other caregivers.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
-
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Experience in a clinical area
Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.

Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.

Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.

Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.

Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.

Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.

Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $50.00
Maximum hourly: $50.00
