Palliative Medicine Physician

The Department of Palliative and Supportive Care at Cleveland Clinic is seeking applicants for a full-time clinical staff position at the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals and Cancer Centers in the Akron/Canton area. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, thriving palliative care team as an integrated partner within the oncology team in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting.  Ideal candidates will be strong clinicians with an interest in medical education and professional development. Candidates must be BC/BE in Palliative Medicine and Hospice and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.

Primary responsibilities include inpatient consultations with our specialized, interdisciplinary palliative care teams in the ICU, oncology units and regular nursing floors. Additional work in outpatient specialty palliative care in the oncology clinic is also available. Opportunities for engagement with education are available.  Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Palliative and Supportive Care offers a competitive, robust fellowship program, training 6 physician yearly.  Teaching opportunities extend to a variety of trainees, including oncology fellows, medicine and surgical residents, and allopathic and osteopathic medical students.  A commitment to interprofessional collaboration and outstanding communication skills are essential.  A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement are also available.

The salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions. This range is generally aligned with or below the 50th percentile of nationally recognized compensation benchmarks by specialty. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This stated range excludes the value of Cleveland Clinic’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, and other offerings.

 

 

Pay Range

Minimum salary: $180,000

Maximum salary: $287,750
