Patient Access Coordinator – Ambulatory Services

As a Patient Access Coordinator at Austintown Medical Outpatient Center, you will organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area, ensuring patients have the best experience possible while being seen. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in an innovative healthcare setting while making a difference in your community.

 
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:30AM – 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Organize and coordinate the activities and flow of work for the patient access area. 
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance of and assists in training patient service representative. 
  • Screen candidates, recommend hires, conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective counseling. 
  • Develop, implement, and oversee programs to improve appointment utilization such as, reminder, follow-up on no-show/cancellation program. 
  • Coordinate activities and resolve operational problems. 
  • Adjust employees, patients, and physicians' schedules to respond to operational problems. 
  • Control and audit the reconciliation of day sheets including adjusting statistics in the computer data bank. 
  • Produce reports as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED and two years of Cleveland Clinic outpatient scheduling experience or other equivalent position, including interacting with patients, physicians, and other departments on a problem resolution basis OR three years external experience OR Associate Degree and one year of experience or Bachelor's Degree​

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech. Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. 

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47

Maximum hourly: $23.61
