The 3 Seidman Oncology/Palliative Unit specializes in medical, neurological and telemetry support for cancer and related disorders. As an LPN on this team, you will ensure each patient feels fully supported while navigating the challenges associated with a new diagnosis. Every day, you can make a lasting difference in their lives, all the while developing your skills as a nurse. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 3:30PM or 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
- Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program
- Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of patient care experience

Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
- Involves extensive standing and walking.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
